Update

On Saturday we pack everyone up in our R.V. and drive to the top of Mt. Bachelor.  Michael is competing in the Pole Pedal Paddle.  It’s a relay race, with six legs that include alpine skiing/snowboarding, cross-country running, canoe/kayaking and sprinting to the finish!  The bike leg (Michael’s forte) is a 22 mile descent along a beautiful scenic drive.

After dropping Michael off, we then drive down the mountain and meet up with Michael at the finish where there is a huge crowd of people cheering everyone on, and plenty of food and drink.  Carmen drives Rafael to his baseball game and Dick, Michael, Olivia & I attend an after celebration party/barbecue at the owner’s home of the market where he works.  The home is right on the river and the day is perfect, not too cold and just a tad bit balmy.

We leave just in time to catch the last inning of Rafael’s game and watch him hit a single, and eventually run the bases home, to score the winning run!

I am still trying to post my photos on this site, but am using Dick’s laptop and I need to upload all from my camera.  Be patient!
